My name is Kimberly and I live in the sunny state of California! I am currently a senior at California High School (go grizzlies!). I am a competitive softball player, cross country runner, and SF Giants fanatic! I enjoy hanging out with my friends, cooking healthy meals, and hitting the gym during my spare time.
I am always on the web; writing emails, streaming music, catching up on social media, etc. However, I have never written a blog, nor have I read one before! This is all new to me so I will try my best to learn the ways of a blogger.
Furthermore, I am an aspiring dermatologist. Ever since my dermatologist, Dr. Tomcik, transformed my skin from acne infested to clean and clear, I have been aiming to get into this field of medicine. However, to make sure that this passion of mine is true, I decided to sign up for iQuest and find an internship. iQuest is a class that allows me to work at an internship during school hours. Finding an internship was a difficult process. I was rejected by many hospital and clinics because I was either too old since they preferred freshman interns, or I was a liability because I was a minor and therefore too young. I could never win! Finally, my iQuest teacher, Mrs. Bonagura, got me an internship at San Ramon Regional Hospital. Through this experience, I hope to find out if the medical field, specifically dermatology, is right for me. I also want to build my resume, receive advice from current doctors, and observe what the daily life of a medical employee is like. These are all the things I plan to share with you on my blog.
Visit my blog so that you can join me on my medical journey!
This is definitely a great first blog! You seem very determined and passionate about future career as a dermatologist. You seem well-rounded and knowledgeable, which will take you many places in life. Good luck of your medical journey!
ReplyDeleteFor many of the students in iQuest, this is the first blogging experience. I hope you enjoy the process. Although the hospital internship, per se, wan't your first choice, I'm know you will learn and the experience will help inform your future.
ReplyDeleteKimberly, I remember way back in 6th grade you were talking about becoming a dermatologist. It's crazy how we're already in our last year of high school and you're about to take your first step to get there. I have no doubt that you will become a great dermatologist. Not just because of your determination, but because of your willingness too care for others. On another note, we share a dedication for health and fitness; it's the best feeling after a great workout. I look forward to hearing more from you!
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes,
Michelle Xue
