Supportive Friends Can Help You Succeed

It is true that no one is your enemy except yourself; you are the only person that can stop you from achieving your aspirations.  However, it is helpful to achieve these aspirations with the help of supportive friends and family to help you when you fall.  I am blessed to be surrounded by many supportive friends and family.  However, I have five people in my life that I can always count on; they push me to follow my dreams and goals everyday and I am thankful for that.

My mom and my number one fan and motivator.  She is one person that I can count on 100% to always be there for me; she is my biggest cheerleader.  My mom helps me to stay focused and on track as well as to stay grounded.  All my mom wants is for me to be happy and successful in life. These are a few reasons for why I believe that that my mom will help me to achieve my dreams and goals in the future.

My dad is another person that I can count on to help me achieve my dreams and goals.  He is very hard on me, put I know that it is for the right reasons. He is very dedicated in helping me succeed.  For example, he makes me hit in the batting cages before every tournament and always offers to hit fly balls to me at our neighborhood park because he wants me to be a rock star on my softball team. My dad will continue to help me be successful in life as I grow into a young, working woman.

My twin sister, Kristina, is always by my side; we are practically connected at the hip! She shares the same dreams and aspirations as me and I know that our similar goals in life will allow both of us to help each other achieve our goals.

My best friend, Jessica, is another person in my life that I can rely on to help me achieve my aspirations. She never fails to put a smile on my face even when I'm sad.  She is a very smart and hardworking girl who inspires me to be strong just as she is.  She is practically my sister and I know that we will be friends until "death do us part."  She has never put down my goals because she believes that I can attain them.

Lastly, my teacher Mrs. Bonagura has already helped me to achieve some of my goals.  She helped me attain an internship at San Ramon Regional Hospital.  Without her assistance, I would not have reached my goal of acquiring medical experience before leaving high school.  I can not thank Mrs. Bonagura enough for her help.

Furthermore, everyone should share there goals and dreams with positive people in their life.  Here is a benchmark test you can use to see if you have a positive relationship with your friends.  Remember to only shares your goals and aspirations to people who will support you 100%, not with people who will put you down.  You can do anything you set your mind too if you try your very best in everything you do!

Benchmark test for choosing friends:
·        Will spending time with this person drag me down or lift me up?
·        Will he or she make me want to be a better person? A happier person? A more successful person?
·        Will he or she help me achieve my most important goals?
·        IF NOT, find some friends who will!
